Cwmbran-based charity, Disability Advice Project has achieved Investors in People Gold accreditation. Gold level is achieved by only 17% of accredited organisations.

Gold accreditation is a fantastic effort for any organisation but is particularly remarkable given the small size of this charity, the fact that it is largely supported by volunteers, and especially because they gained Gold accreditation while in the grips of the Covid pandemic.”

DAP has nine staff and 18 volunteers, the majority of whom are disabled or the carer of a disabled person. The project’s welfare rights service helps ensure disabled people, their families and carers receive full benefit entitlement, access to care and adaptations to live and move around independently.

Its services are available in the Gwent area. However, the charity never turns anyone away and has clients across the UK.
