The stark warning is made in The Homelessness Monitor:

Great Britain, new research from homelessness charity Crisis led by Heriot-Watt University. The estimate, that on any given night in 2023, 300,000 households could be experiencing the worst forms of homelessness, is up from 227,000 in 2020, an increase of 32%.

The Royal British Legion’s long-held estimate is that somewhere between 3 and 6 per cent of homeless people have an armed forces background. While disabled people represent 22% of the overall population, a recent survey suggests they may represent up to 39% of the homeless population.

According to government data, the number of people qualifying for homelessness support—such as emergency accommodation—in England because of a disability rose by 73% from 2018 to 2022.

It’s time for change!

Steve Gower is piloting a NEW project to not only end homelessness, but to provide a fully sustainable, self-sufficient, solution. It will provide temporary and permanent Eco-friendly EPC rating A fit for the 21st century living accommodation. The temporary accommodation Lantern will provide with on the grid utility supply already exists and has been up and running for six years successfully accommodating homeless individuals in Bristol, the system works.
