Residents at Thistle Court Court Care Home in Ty Canol enjoyed a Christmas market in December.

A spokesperson for the care homes said: “The Christmas Market showcased a heartwarming array of homemade treats and wreaths, all handmade by the team, adding a personal touch to the special occasion. The event also showcased extraordinary craftsmanship from local business Think Happy Soothers, renowned for their innovative fidget toys designed to support individuals with autism, ADHD, and dementia – providing attendees with the perfect opportunity to find unique and thoughtful gifts for the season.

“Adding to the festive spirit, the team held various activities throughout the day; showcasing engaging events like a lively game of Tombola and an enticing raffle, providing participants with an opportunity to win a free MOT with local garage, ETB Cwmbran. While the specially crafted hot chocolate stations, complete with delightful reindeer-themed hot chocolate, added an extra layer of warmth for residents, their families and community members.

“The Christmas Market not only provided a platform for sharing the festive spirit but also served as a fundraiser for activities within the care home. This initiative not only enhances the family members quality of life but also reinforces the home’s commitment to creating an engaging and enjoyable activities, fostering a sense of community within the home.
