Canal walk raises over £2,000 for Blood Bikes Wales

‘Dozens’ of people took part in a walk along the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal and raised over £2,000 for Blood Bikes Wales.

The event was organised by the Rotary Clubs of Abergavenny, Crickhowell, Cwmbran Vale, Henllys and Pontypool. It took place last Sunday and walkers had the option to start from one of five spots: Five Locks Cwmbran, Pontymoile Basin, Llanfoist Wharf, Gilwern Canal Car Park or Llangattock Bridge 115.

All the walks finished at Goytre Wharf where participants enjoyed a BBQ and refreshmenta.

Blood Bikes Wales is a charity that helps to save lives by transporting blood across hospital sites in Wales. It’s a free service to the NHS and run by volunteers who rely on donations and support.
