An exhibition of work by the artist Ed Jeavons has opened at Llantarnam Grange Arts Centre. The collection of paintings and prints are on display in the centre’s Oriel Café with individual pieces for sale.

Ed, who lectures in Fine Art at the University of South Wales’ Caerleon campus, is a contemporary artist whose paintings and prints are often highly tactile, focusing the viewer on the physicality of the piece.

This year Ed was profiled in a book on British contemporary abstract art called The State of Art, by Bare Hill Publishing. Ed also exhibits on his own and in group shows across the UK. His work was recently selected for Aberdeen University’s prestigious Fabric of the Land exhibition, which ran in Aberdeen before transferring to Edinburgh.

In 2013 Ed’s work has also been shown at the Hackwood Festival in Basingstoke, the Beetroot Gallery in Derbyshire and University of South Wales’s own Ffloc Gallery at Caerleon.

Ed’s work will be on display at the Oriel Café until 11 January 2014, alongside On My Mother’s Knee in the Main Gallery.
