A performing arts academy is opening in Cwmbran offering a “brand-new hub for all things song, dance, and drama”.
Fleigh Academy of Performing Arts is holding an open day at White Hut Community Hall in Coed Eva.
The group is led by Frances Leigh Watkins, who has organised the fun day for Saturday 30 August 2025 from 12pm to 4pm for people to meet her and the team.
They will have lots of stalls, cakes from Dannys Delights , fun activities and free taster sessions.
A press release said: “After four incredible years away, Frances has returned to her South Wales roots, bringing with her a wealth of experience, passion, and a burning desire to ignite the performing arts spark in the next generation. From her early days at Sharon Higgins Academy in Newport, to snagging a prestigious BBO Jazz Scholarship in London at just 13, and then honing her craft at the renowned SLP College in Leeds, Frances has truly lived and breathed the performing arts.

“She’s worked in the industry, graced stages, and now, after a little detour into teaching after the COVID era, she’s back home and ready to share every bit of her extensive knowledge with YOU!
