The founder of a Cwmbran-based Indian cookery school has been shortlisted for a national award celebrating the achievements of small businesses across the UK.

Neetha Krishna, the owner of Neetha’s Kitchen Ltd, is a finalist in the Female Entrepreneur of the Year category at the UK Small Business Awards 2026.

She offers hands-on cookery workshops teaching traditional Indian recipes and techniques, with participants learning to prepare traditional starters, curries, breads and desserts.

A spokesperson for the awards said: “The standard of entries this year has been incredibly high. Each finalist has demonstrated an exceptional level of dedication and achievement, representing the very best of UK small businesses.”

The latest recognition adds to a successful year for the business, which was also shortlisted for Cookery School of the Year at the Food Awards Wales 2026 and in the Tourism and Hospitality category at the TMBG Business Awards 2026.

Neetha Krishna said: “Running my own cookery school has been a rewarding journey, and I’m passionate about sharing authentic Indian cooking through personalised, hands-on workshops.

“We are incredibly honoured and proud to be recognised as a finalist at The UK Small Business Awards.

‘Special milestone’

“Winning Cookery School of the Year at The Food Awards Wales in 2025 was a very special milestone for me. To be recognised as a finalist in three awards this year is truly encouraging.

“Neetha’s Kitchen was born from my passion for authentic Indian cooking and my desire to share it with others. Running a small business takes dedication and perseverance, and these achievements motivate me to continue growing my cookery school and sharing the joy of Indian cooking with more people. I am proud to represent Cwmbran and grateful for this recognition.”

The UK Small Business Awards ceremony will take place on Saturday 19 December 2026 in Birmingham.
