Cwmbran Town footballer Lee Trundle has said he shouldn’t have played in his debut game for the Crows due to an injured shoulder.
Trundle has a cult following after a career playing over 20 clubs, including Wrexham, Bristol City and Swansea City. He signed for Cwmbran Town in June ready for the 2026/27 Ardal South East League.
He pulled on the Crows’ shirt for the first time in his side’s 3-0 loss to rivals Cwmbran Celtic on Tuesday 28 July.
Trundle was on Radio Wales as a pundit in their Saturday afternoon sports team on Saturday 8 August.
He said: “I’ve torn my shoulder in pre-season as well, and I played in that game because it was a derby game. They hadn’t played each other for 16 years. I shouldn’t have really played. I seen the specialist on Friday and I’ve got to go and see the surgeon on Wednesday, so it looks as though I’ll have to get an operation on it so hopefully I’ll get that sorted soon. I’ll be out for a couple of months now and then back playing. But yes, still keeping fit, still playing, and I’ll definitely be back this season as well.”
Trundle will also be a regular contributor this season to the BBC Wales’ Feast of Football podcast.
