Happy 18th birthday Caleb McDuff. The former Cwmbran High School pupil and 2024 Deaf Sports Personality of the Year was a special guest of Kilted Dragon Distillery this morning 20 January 2026) in their unit on Springvale Industrial Estate.
He visited their new events room, where owners Jamie and Marie Boycott presented him with a special spirit and let him try several tasters from their range. Caleb is one of the only profoundly deaf competitors racing at an elite level in global motorsport.

He said: “It’s been a really good morning over at Kilted Dragon Distillery. I’ve really enjoyed it.”
Last year was a busy time off the track as he launched a series of school tours– where he gives talks to pupils and shares his inspirational story. He also worked with his dad, Ian, to publish ‘Breaking the Sound Barrier: The Caleb McDuff Story‘- a book about his career from birth to a rising teenage track star.
‘Inspire more children’
He said: “My goal is to inspire more children to become like me. We reached out to a lot of parents with that [the book]. We had good feedback and reviews.
“It’s a special book for me.”
I asked him why racing a car is so special.
He said: “It gives you satisfaction, especially when you get it right. It’s a lovely thing to get in the car and see people cheering you on. I’m very grateful.”
