Residents with dementia from Thomas Gabrielle EMI Residential Home in Old Cwmbran set off on a sponsored walk to Cwmbran Boating Lake last Friday.
As they headed down Victoria Street, cars beeped, bus drivers waved, and all the staff and customers in Dirty Roots Salon stopped to turn and wave as the group passed. One driver shouted out of her car window: “You all look fabulous.” The money they raise will go towards Christmas events.
I spoke to Alan Bevan, who works at the home, about why they were doing the event.
