The old cinema in Cwmbran town centre has closed. These photos were taken today. A workmen was painting the boards that  now block the entrance.

This post on Cwmbran Life last August about Scene 123 attracted several comments.

It was prompted after I popped there to see a film and the cost was just £2.50. A bigger surprise was the cost of a can of coke and bag of sweets. A bargain busting total of £1.70.

That was followed up with a Storify of people talking about the last time they visited this cinema.

I’d love to know who ran this place. Let me know if you know. The last time I went there was a couple who ran things. I saw them closed up, lock the door and walk off in towards Southville.
