Fans of top tribute band Guns 2 Roses had a treat on the weekend with two chances to see them on stage in Cwmbran. The frontman is Gavin Felvus, a former pupil at Coed Eva Primary School and Fairwater Comprehensive School

He left the town in 2002 for London to pursue a career in acting. He picked up the microphone as Axl Rose between jobs and has not looked back. He has taken the band across UK, Europe and America. Last year they played to 20,000 in India and in 2019 they are planning to perform in Japan.

Over the years his band has been joined by several members of Guns N’Roses.

Cwmbran Life joined the band backstage as Guns 2 Roses prepared for their show in Cwmbran’s Mecca Bingo last Friday. The following day saw them return to Gavin’s old school in Coed Eva to help celebrate its 50th anniversary.
