A SECRET land purchase could be agreed by councillors behind closed doors this week.
Torfaen Borough Council’s cabinet is being advised to use powers to exclude the public, including members of the press, from its regular meeting where it will discuss an item that is only listed on the agenda as “Land Acquisition”.
No details of the site being considered for purchase or where it is are included in the public agenda.
Councils have the power to hold parts of meetings behind closed doors if they are discussing personal information or some financial issues, including its own financial interests.
Torfaen’s Labour cabinet meets at the Civic Centre, in Pontypool, on Tuesday, July 8 at 10.30am.
