Deaf go-kart racer Caleb McDuff is set to begin his campaign in the Super One Kart Championship at the end  of the month.

The super fast 10-year-old joined forces earlier this year with Luke Hines and his AllStars Racing Team, and has since entered 13 races to meet the tough driving standard requirements to compete in Super One.

Caleb, of Pontypool, Torfaen, has been travelling to tracks all over the UK to compete against the fastest eight to 13-year -olds in the country, and on some weekends has shown his determination by competing at one race on Saturday followed by another race on Sunday.

The Cwmbran schoolboy has been profoundly deaf since aged two

The Nant Celyn Primary School pupil suffered chronic ear infections as a toddler, leaving him profoundly deaf by age two, losing 90% of his hearing. He now uses cochlear implants giving him a simulated sense of sound, but can not wear the over-ear processors with his crash helmet on, so races in complete silence.

Though no stranger to the world of karting, having competed since 2014 in the MSA Bambino Kart Championship, for drivers six to eight-year-olds. Caleb last year moved up to Honda Cadet class with much more powerful engines, and has had to adapt to the different driving style required.
