A HOMEOWNER wants to build a log cabin at his listed property to house a golf simulator.
John Royles has told planners the simulator would be for personal use only and the wooden cabin will be between two existing garages in the grounds of his home Ysgubor Wen in Glascoed, near Pontypool.
Ysgubor Wen is grade II-listed and was originally a stone barn converted for residential use in the late 1980s.
The barn was associated with the main building, Beech Tree Farmhouse, which is grade II-listed and was extended in the 18th century and originally dates back to the 17th century.
Permission is sought to flatten the ground so it can accommodate the cabin which will have a power supply for lighting and to power the simulator though there will be no windows.
The application is being considered by Monmouthshire County Council’s planning department.
