An appeal has been launched to raise £20,000 for a library in the Maggie’s Centre being built in Cardiff.  Cwmbran mum Donna Dunn said Remission Possible, the campaign set up her daughter Emily Clark before she passed away in 2016, had committed to raise the cash.

Donna said: “A Maggie’s Centre is coming to Cardiff in early 2019. We have pledged to fund the library. It will then be dedicated in Emily’s memory on World Book Day. The artist’s impression of this space by Dow Jones Architects are stunning. I hope you agree this is a fitting tribute to my bookworm daughter.

“It will support any person, with any cancer, any stage, their families and friends. The builders have moved on to the site and it’s all systems go. Now it’s just the small matter of £20,000 to raise to complete it. Every penny really will make a difference.

“It’s a lot to raise with a tight timescale.”

The library will stock books about cancer to provide support and advice for patients and their families.
