Children from Llanyrafon playgroup and nursery have started visiting Llanyravon Court Care Home to take part in activities together. These photos show the youngster drawing and playing games with the older residents.

The nursery say: “Twice a week, we are taking small groups of children to visit and join in with organised activities with the care home’s residents. This will promote and develop the children’s skills and will also benefit the residents. Today was enjoyed by all involved.”

The project was set up to encourage ‘working in partnership with the community’ and has received funding from the Welsh Government.

The group, based in Llanyrafon Social Club,  is a charity-run Early Years Funded Nursery and Playgroup.  There are funded spaces available. If you need a space for your child send a message through the group’s Facebook page.

They have been inspected by the CSSIW and ESTYN. This September 22 out the 24 children moved on to Llanyrafon Primary School.
