Western Welsh 90th Anniversary-Stagecoach Open Day
Stagecoach are holding their first OPEN DAY at their Cwmbran bus depot at 1 St David’s Road, a short walk from Cwmbran Bus station and Railway Station. Free family Fun Day with Heritage and Modern Bus display and free bus trips, and side stalls.
In its heyday it operated over 4,000 square miles, had 18 depots, over 3,000 staff and linked places such as Milford Haven to Monmouth and Aberystwyth to Abergavenny and covered Carmarthen, Bridgend, Cardiff, Newport and locally at Cwmbran and Pontypool. Cwmbran Stagecoach bus depot opened in 1963 and is the last operational depot of the old firm.
THE CWMBRAN OPEN DAY 10 am until 4 pm will be a free family fun day experience with free bus trips, there will be a display of heritage and modern buses, side stalls including transport related items such as models, photographs and books and there will be children’s activities. Involved with this day is the heritage bus volunteers at the Cardiff Transport Preservation Group who look after around 100 vehicles from 1933 to 2000 at their restoration base at The Bus Depot, Barry They are holding a Western Welsh 90th heritage bus running day on Sunday 8th September, with free trips every 15 minutes 10:30 am until 4:30 pm
