Enter the 24-hour Relay for Life event in Pontypool Park

A 24-hour event is being held in Pontypool Park to raise money for Cancer Research UK.

Relay for Life Pontypool takes place from 11am on Saturday 17 June. Visit Relay For Life to sign up.

Pontypool Park will also have entertainment and food stalls available. From 10 am until 4pm there will be crafts and cake stalls along with face paint. A dog show will take place at 2pm and there will also be live acts from this time.

The event’s website says: “The teams relay around the track for 24 hours, they set up camp with their team mates and are entertained throughout the 24 hours by various community groups and visitors. The community really do come together to kick cancer’s butt. It really is a fantastic day!

“Relay For Life Pontypool is held each year in the beautiful Pontypool Park. Our first ever Relay for Life started in April 2016 with a fundraising target of £20,000. The teams smashed the target and raised just over £61,000.

“We were officially the BEST first ever Relay for Life in the whole of the UK. In 2017, our fantastic teams returned, raising over £63,000 and again in 2018 raising over £45,000. In 2019 we raised a massive £97,000.”
