BBC Crimewatch Live reconstruction- Cwmbran attempted robbery and assault

A reconstruction of an attempted robbery and assault in Cwmbran has been broadcast on BBC’s Crimewatch Live programme.

Actors recreated the moment three masked men burst into a man’s garden workshop in Croesyceiliog where he was working on precious metals.

Carl, an office worker from Cwmbran, started his jewellery hobby a “couple of years ago”. At around 5.30pm on Friday 15 January 2021 the trio, two of them wielding a baseball bat and claw hammer, suddenly opened the door and screamed at him to open his safe.

Carl’s wife heard the commotion and ran out of the house. The couple were assaulted before the men escaped empty-handed.

All three suspects were wearing balaclavas and dark clothing. They parked their car in Cwrt Glas.

  • White male: Early 30s. 5ft 9in to 5ft 11in. Stocky build.
  • White male: Early 30s. Just under 6ft 3in
  • White male: Much younger than the other two suspects.
