A donation of £500 from Pontypool Round Table has secured the future of the hospital radio station at the Royal Gwent for the next year.

Channel One Radio has been on air since 1981 and is run by volunteers on a shoestring budget. Many volunteers have gone on to careers in the media thanks to their experience at the station.

Patients now tune-in on their mobile phone or tablet using the free wifi in the hospital. The app is called Tunein. You can also listen at www.channelone.org.uk

The volunteers are thrilled with the donation and are looking forward to another successful year entertaining patients during their stay.
