A TELEVISION series that goes behind the scenes of investigations into crashes on Gwent’s roads has been praised “for making people better drivers”.
Crash Detectives follows officers from the Gwent roads policing units as they try and work out what has caused a crash, often with fatal consequences, and who is to blame.
The BBC Wales programme, now in its fifth series, was praised when Gwent Police and Crime Commissioner Jane Mudd, who is responsible for overseeing the force, attended Monmouthshire County Council’s public services committee.
Rogiet Labour councillor Peter Strong told her: “Colleagues all watch Crash Detectives. I’d like to express my admiration for the skill, professionalism and also compassion of those guys featured in the programme.
“They’re an absolute credit to Gwent Police and I think it makes better drivers of anybody who’s watching it as well.”
Cllr Strong asked Ms Mudd to “convey our appreciation” to the officers involved.
