Not a single Cwmbran pub has applied for an extension to stay open for England’s World Cup opening match against Italy.

The game kicks off at 11pm on Saturday 14 June. Pubs in England are allowed to stay open until 1am but pubs in Wales have to apply for £21 temporary events notice.

Torfaen Council said that no Cwmbran pubs have applied yet although they had received a few phone calls.

The deadline for an application is ten working days before so remind your landlord or landlady the next time you speak to them.
