VIDEO: Meet Tasha who has just set up her own business in Cwmbran: Tasha’s Tea Room

Tasha Herbert

Tasha Herbert has just opened a cafe in Cwmbran. Tasha’s Tea Room is in the Power Station in St Dials.

Watch a video of Tasha talking about her new business and why she set it up

She has always worked in the pub and catering industry and after years of friends and family telling her she should open her own business she has gone for it.

A chat with her mate, Reanne Cogdell, who runs Libbie’s Flower Boutique in Fairwater Shops led to her being put in touch with Torfaen Council’s  Communities First team who helped her find a venue, write a business plan, get flyers and open up.

During our video chat you can tell her is so proud to open up a business in the community where she grew up. She went to Fairwater Comprehensive School and lives in Greenmeadow. As a local she knows what residents can afford and has planned this into her menu’s prices.

Pop along and check out Tasha’s Tea Room.

Tasha’s Tea Room opening hours

It’s open Monday to Friday 9am to 4pm.

The Power Station is usually closed on Saturday’s but if there is a course on Tasha plans to open and let people know through her Facebook page.

A recent customer wanted to book afternoon tea but couldn’t get there until 4.30pm but Tasha was able to stay open later. So if you do want something different just ask.
