The Queen has sent her ‘good wishes’ to a Cwmbran care home and playgroup for running a project where children visit residents

The letter from the Queen's Lady-in-Waiting to Llanyrafon Court Care Home

The Queen has thanked Llanyravon Court Care Home and Llanyrafon Playgroup for a special project where children visit residents.

This story on Cwmbran Life in September about the visits attracted 100s of likes and comments on Facebook. The granddaughter of a resident in the home wrote to the Queen to tell her about the work.

Her Lady-In-Waiting wrote back and said the Queen was glad to learn that the “scheme is proving to be so successful and beneficial.”

Shelly Wilks, the nursery manager, said: “My staff, Mandy Tottle and Kayleigh Anslow, are wonderful! We have also had interest from other nurseries and nursing homes to repeat our project.”

Here are some photos from one of the children’s visits to the care home
