Join in this lovely event on Sunday where volunteers are needed to plant 500 trees in a woodland that was devastated last year by Phytophthora, a disease that attacks larch trees.

Blaen Bran Community Woodland is a stunning area run as a registered charity on the mountain above Upper Cwmbran.

Volunteers help organise and run many events and on Sunday 22 March at 10am they want people to help bring an area of the woodland back to life.

Quite a few acres of trees were felled in 2014 but now is the chance for the community to support the event called ‘After devastation comes new life.’

Children are welcome but must be supervised.

The  woodland is becoming more and more popular with new walkers enjoying the beautiful, tranquil area. Blaen Bran held its tenth anniversary last year.

Check out the group’s Facebook page for the latest information.
